HEMARAJ Land and Development Plc, a public company under SET-listed WHA Corporation, has launched its ninth industrial estate – with Rayong province home to the land development.
Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate 4 (HESIE4) comprises a three million square metres land development. Construction of a Bt9.36 billion tyre factory is due to start in 2019.
The company said it had all environmental and industrial estate approvals secured to meet the exacting timing and specifications of it partner in the project, International Technology Corporation Continental.
HESIE4 comprises a gross area of 750,000 square metres which will be completed for phase one.
The industrial estate utility infrastructure is slated for completion in 2017.
HESIE4 is being developed under a land grading, with Continental offered exacting land dimensions and land and utility specifications to meet the requirements for the site selection.
David Nardone, one of the group’s executives overseeing the estate, said: “It [the birth of the project] was a joint effort among the Continental and WHA Hemaraj teams. We sought to understand their process, utility, and land requirements well in advance of their decision timing and then commenced civil works preparations procedures. From that point, we worked together to design the land plot and utilities that allow Continental to optimise their manufacturing requirements.
“The site selection process at Continental for new plants is very complex, where we have to take into account not only the proximity to markets and our customers and several infrastructure elements, but also the workforce available as well as educational institutions which will support us.”
Michael Egner, another senior figure involved in the project, said that for the site selection process for land and infrastructure, specific manufacturing site design requirements were used.
“Through our excellent collaboration with Hemaraj at HESIE4 we were able to initiate all civil works procedures on time,” he said.
‘Therefore I would like to express my sincere thank you to both teams and rely on a fruitful cooperation also in the future.”
