ACHIEVING faster business growth in a sustainable way and meeting the needs of customers and stakeholders top the agenda for Chroong Kanjchanapoomi as the new general manager of Siam Gypsum Industry (Saraburi) Co.
The appointment of Chroong to the post in February is in line with what the company says is a strategy to expand its market leadership and leverage the brand among consumers.
Chroong yesterday said the core purpose of Siam Gypsum Industry is to contribute to an improvement in the lives of its employees and customers and their communities.
Founded in 1982, the company say its has led the way in offering innovative gypsum board products in Thailand. In 2014, it became part of a joint venture with USG Corp, which invented gypsum boards, and Boral Gypsum, a construction materials company in Australia. The joint venture, USG Boral, established itself across Asia, Australasia and the Middle East.
In Thailand, USG Boral is run as a joint venture with Siam Cement Group, a leading player in the building material sector. The joint venture offers gypsum board products under the Gypsum Trachang brand to Thai consumers.
Chroong said architects and construction companies need more efficient ways to build. “Building owners need better running buildings with more efficient operating costs,” he said. “Everyone is more sensitive to sustainable construction. We are committed to developing solutions for walls and ceilings that answer these needs.”
Chroong said the company aims to build a closer relationship “with home owners, in imparting more knowledge”.
He said he had identified three key success factors for the company: brand, people, and capabilities.
“Investments will be made in these three key areas, building superior brand awareness among our customers and influencers, developing world class professionals for our organisation and business partners,” Chroong said.
