Distinctive furniture by Canada's EQ3 and local brand Podium finds its way to Siam Discovery
Home decor and furniture outlet Habitat closed in March after 11 years in operation the store didn't stay empty for long. Siam Piwat, the operator of Siam Discovery, has now converted the 2,000 square metres on the fourth and fifth floors of Siam Discovery, into a high-end furniture store it's calling The Space. The classy venue offers two brands: EQ3 from Canada with its signature European-style and local brand Podium with its distinctive wooden furniture. EQ3 introduces contemporary style furniture for the living room, bedroom and dining room as well for the home office. There are also plenty of attractive accessories including a stainless vase, six-globe floor lamp with a 360-degree twist plus armchair, sofa bed, computer desk and cocktail table. In stock now is the Magnolia collection made of elegant mahogany wood and featuring curved slat bed, nightstand, chest, single and dresser. The Milo collection, which blends contemporary and vintage touches, offers striking designs for the bedroom, dining and living room. The distinctive feature is its high-gloss lacquered and chrome surfaces and compact sizes that are ideal for rooms with limited space. The fifth floor is devoted to the Podium collections, which will appeal to those who love natural wood. All furniture is made of wood from ecological forest plantations in the US and includes closets, beds, sideboards and dining tables with chairs. Its latest Nordic collection is made of Alder wood and guaranteed to endure both humidity and a changing climate. Another new collection, Pithily, is made of hard, strong and durable Hackberry wood. Custom-made products are also available. Call (02) 658 1050-4 for details.
